The International Olympic Committee recognises the International Federation of Basque Pelota as the world body in charge of Basque pelota. It decides what the rules are for international competitions and puts them on. On May 19, 1929, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the French Federation of Basque Pelota, the Spanish Federation of Basque Pelota, and the Argentine Federation of Basque Pelota got together to create the International Federation of Basque Pelota.


The International Handball Federation (IHF) is in charge of handball and beach handball and how they are run. IHF is in charge of running the biggest international handball tournaments, like the IHF World Men's Handball Championship, which has been going on since 1938, and the IHF World Women's Handball Championship, which has been going on since 1957.


The International Tennis Federation (ITF) runs tennis, wheelchair tennis, and beach tennis all over the world. It was started in 1913 by twelve national tennis organisations as the International Lawn Tennis Federation. As of 2016, the ITF is made up of 211 national associations and six regional associations.


The FIVB, which stands for the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball, is the international group in charge of all kinds of volleyball. Its main office is in Lausanne, Switzerland, and Ary Graca, who is from Brazil, is its current president. France is where the FIVB got its start in April 1947.


The International Basketball Federation is a group of national basketball organisations that run basketball around the world. The FIBA used to be called the Fédération internationale de basket-ball amateur. In 1989, the word "amateur" was taken out of the name, but the acronym stayed the same.
